- Minimum 21 years of age
- High School Diploma or GED
- Ability to read, write and speak English clearly.
- Current CPR or acquire within 3 months of hire.
- Tactical Handcuff Training within 6 months of hire if no prior Law Enforcement, Corrections, NCPPS or Military background
- NC Private Protective Services Unarmed Guard Training within 3 months of hire.
- NC Private Protective Services Armed Security Officer Training / Certification within 3 months of hire.
- Taser certification within 6 months of hire
- Valid driver’s license
- Acceptable driving record as required by hospital’s liability insurance.
- Prior Law Enforcement or Corrections Experience
- Prior Military Experience
- Hazardous materials awareness
Assists and safeguards all hospital staff, patients, visitors, and property. Provides crowd control of the entire facility for quick implementation and appropriate medical treatment of all patients. Aids with patients and visitors entering and exiting the facility. Monitors all parking areas to provide continuous ingress and egress of the facility. Patrols the entire facility (s) in a sufficient manner as to deter any wrongful conduct or activity.
May be required to drive hospital or personal vehicle in the completion of job duties.
All Full-Time officers will be required to work their designated hours, i.e., 100% 72-80 hours bi-weekly, 80% 60 hours bi-weekly, unless their absence is covered by using existing Paid time Off and/or approved for other circumstances by the Manager of Public Safety.
All PRN officers will be required to work all schedule hours and to provide at least 3 scheduled days in a 4 week pay period that they are available.
