Site Mobile Equipment Mechanic I

• Pay or shift range: $27.30 USD to $40.96 USD. The estimated range is the budgeted amount for this position. Final offers are based on various factors, including skill set, experience, location, qualifications and other job-related reasons.

Luck Stone's Mount Airy Plant is looking for a Site Mobile Mechanic who's mechanically inclined, safety-minded, and ready to keep our mobile equipment running at its best. Our fleet is the backbone of extraction, crushing, and conveying operations, and our Mobile Mechanics are the hands‑on experts who make sure that equipment stays in top‑notch condition — because at Luck Stone, safety and quality go hand in hand.

Job Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance on mobile equipment, following SOP service schedules
• Troubleshoot and repair hydraulic, electrical, and powertrain systems
• Diagnose and resolve reactive maintenance issues as they arise
• Service and replace wear items, including ground engagement tools
• Work on transmissions (including torque converters), engines, differentials, final drives, and brakes
• Manage parts and inventory to keep repairs moving efficiently
• Utilize computer systems to log maintenance, track equipment history, and manage work orders
• Keep accurate equipment records to support ongoing management and planning
• Help keep the shop and work areas clean and organized at the end of each shift

What You Bring

• Required Skills:
  
  Fundamental knowledge of hydraulic, electrical, and powertrain systems, with the ability to test, adjust, and repair mobile equipment
• Experience:
  
  Minimum of 1 year of experience troubleshooting and repairing mobile equipment
• Education:
  
  High School Diploma or GED
• Comfort Level: Comfortable working in dusty conditions, in all types of weather, around quarry high walls and pits, and from elevated positions or in tunnels for extended periods

Schedule

Onsite, Monday through Friday, 6:00 AM – 5:00 PM

Pay starts at $27.30 per hour and could increase upon skills and experience evaluation from management.
