RequiredEducation and Experience
Bachelor's degree in human service field preferred. Must obtain or exceed within 18 months of hire, at a minimum, a credential or certification in social work, human services, family services, counseling, or a related field. Must pass pre-employment physical, TB test. Be certified in Child and Adult CPR and Basic First Aid. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
Summary/ObjectiveThis position ensures families receive services utilizing a strength based, case management approach resulting in enhanced overall well-being and child advocacy.
Essential Functions:Daily Activities
- Identify and recruit Head Start eligible families and children, including children with disabilities and underserved populations.
- Maintain funded enrollment level in accordance with enrollment requirements.
- Select participants for the Head Start program based on the established plans and procedures.
- Provide appropriate follow-up when classroom absences are frequent.
- Actively participates in and contributes to child staffing on a regular basis.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Recognize and identify each family's risk and protective factors.
- Respects and promote the unique identify of each and family, and refrains from stereotyping based on genre, race, ethnicity, culture, religion, or disability.
- Make home visits and contracts with the family as needed or required by agency plans and procedures.
- Use the family partnership pre-assessment throughout the year as a guide to assist families to reassess their needs.
- Facilitates parent/guardian involvement in the program and the delivery of services to children and families though collaboration with community partners.
- Maintain confidentiality regarding job-related information about children, families, and staff members.
- Documentation and recordkeeping are timely and accurately completed and maintained as required by all applicable regulations.
- Ensure compliance with all Local, State, and Federal regulations.
- Completes documentation as required.
