Automation Engineer - Allegan Area

Salary Range: $81,000 - $126,000 depending on experience

• Design, develop, and implement industrial automation solutions (e.g., PLCs, HMIs, SCADA).
• Program and configure PLCs, industrial robots, vision systems, and motion control devices.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex automation system failures and performance issues.
• Optimize existing manufacturing processes through automation for improved efficiency, quality, and throughput.
• Collaborate with production, maintenance, and engineering teams to define automation requirements and integrate solutions.
• Develop and maintain technical documentation, including wiring diagrams, control narratives, and operational manuals.
• Ensure all automation solutions comply with safety standards and regulatory requirements.

• Proficiency in PLC programming (e.g., Siemens, Rockwell/Allen-Bradley) and debugging.
• Experience with HMI/SCADA system design, development, and implementation.
• Knowledge of industrial robotics (e.g., FANUC, KUKA, ABB) programming and integration.
• Strong understanding of industrial networking protocols (e.g., Ether Net/IP, PROFINET, Modbus).
• Ability to integrate and calibrate sensors, actuators, and other control devices.

• Experience with industrial robotics programming and integration (e.g., FANUC, KUKA, ABB).
• Proficiency in machine vision system setup and programming (e.g., Cognex, Keyence).
• Knowledge of data historian systems (e.g., OSIsoft PI) and SQL for data analysis from automation platforms.
• Familiarity with cybersecurity best practices for Operational Technology (OT) networks.
