The EHS Manager is a key leader within an industrial manufacturing organization’s Environmental, Health, and Safety team. This role is responsible for driving the company’s safety strategy, ensuring regulatory compliance, and leading the development and continuous improvement of best-in-class EHS systems. The position plays a critical role in advancing a zero-incident culture focused on employee safety, environmental stewardship, and operational excellence.
- Position Type: Exempt / Full-Time
- Compensation: $120,000 – $140,000 annually, plus bonus
- Location: Oakland County, MI (On-site)
- Travel: Up to 10%
- Develop, implement, and enforce environmental, health, and safety policies and procedures to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, including ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 standards.
- Lead risk assessments and hazard analyses to proactively identify and mitigate safety and environmental risks.
- Conduct regular safety audits, inspections, and compliance reviews across manufacturing operations.
- Design and deliver EHS training programs covering safety procedures, regulatory requirements, and emergency response.
- Develop and manage environmental programs related to waste management, pollution prevention, and sustainability initiatives.
- Investigate workplace incidents and near misses, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective and preventive actions.
- Ensure ongoing compliance with OSHA, EPA, and other applicable regulatory agencies.
- Maintain accurate EHS records, reports, and documentation, including incident tracking and audit results.
- Promote and reinforce a strong safety culture across all levels of the organization.
- Perform additional duties as required to support EHS objectives.
- Strong ability to conduct risk assessments and analyze data to identify trends and hazards
- Clear and effective communication skills
- Strong problem-solving and root cause analysis capabilities
- Proven leadership and team engagement skills
- High attention to detail with the ability to manage competing priorities
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of environmental, health, and safety experience within a lean manufacturing environment
