SummaryThe Registered Nurse (RN) functions primarily in direct patient care and demonstrates competent clinical practice. The position triages patients, obtains patient history and vital signs, and assesses patients. The RN acts independently to initiate immediate care in the absence of a physician during life‑threatening situations, provides care for acutely ill and non‑acute patients, performs multiple procedures with both complex and simple nursing skills, and assists the physician with procedures.
The RN also provides comfort to patients, families, and visitors, offers discharge and follow‑up instructions, and responds to ambulance radios, giving appropriate orders for pre‑medical center care. The RN works with sophisticated equipment, handles various patient types, and functions in a frequently stressful environment across the Emergency Department, Medical and Surgical floors.
Position requires travel among the My Michigan Health Eastern Region and the My Michigan Health Center – Clare.
