Cashier role at The Home Depot in Flint, MI. This position focuses on customer service, processing transactions, and maintaining the Self-Checkout area. Cashiers provide fast, friendly, accurate, and safe service, process Checkout and/or Return transactions, and monitor Self-Checkout. They seek product knowledge to assist customers and identify selling opportunities, and follow policies to minimize shrink. A Head Cashier supports Cashiers by expediting price checks, approving POS transactions and markdowns for mainline registers, Self-Checkout, Returns, Pro Desk, Special Services, and Tool Rental.

They provide first-level escalation for customer issues and assist in supervising, coaching, and training Front End Associates, including training new Cashiers and coaching using available tools.

• Process Checkout and/or Return transactions and monitor the Self-Checkout area.
• Provide fast, friendly, accurate, and safe customer service; proactively seek product knowledge to assist customers and identify selling opportunities.
• Follow policies and procedures to minimize shrink.
• Support Cashiers as Head Cashier by expediting price checks, approving POS transactions and markdowns for various areas (Mainline, Self-Checkout, Returns, Pro Desk, Special Services, Tool Rental).
• Provide first-level escalation for customer issues and assist in supervising, coaching, and training Front End Associates.
• Participate in training of new Cashiers and use available tools to coach and develop others.

• Preferred qualification: 1+ years of Cashier experience.
