Journeyman Electrician

The Master Electrician is responsible for the maintenance, repair, and installation of all electrical systems, including system additions or modifications on plant equipment and facilities. This role involves working on electrical systems up to 480 volts at the Hillsdale location.

• Install and monitor the performance of electrical equipment for hazards, adjustments, or replacements.
• Create, maintain, diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair various plant equipment.
• Repair, install, replace, and test electrical circuits, equipment, and appliances using appropriate tools, including control hardware like PLCs and HMIs.
• Collaborate with machine operators on troubleshooting and automation to improve efficiency.
• Read and interpret electrical drawings and blueprints.
• Fabricate and weld parts as needed.
• Lead, train, or guide other electricians or maintenance personnel in procedures and techniques.
• Perform routine and preventive maintenance, including repairs to mechanical, electrical, plumbing, pneumatic, and hydraulic equipment.
• Ensure proper care in the use and maintenance of equipment and supplies.
• Promote safety and environmental practices in the workplace.
• Perform other duties as required.

• High school diploma or GED.
• Current State of Michigan Master Electrician certification, with ongoing maintenance of certification.
• Experience with Lean manufacturing, continuous improvement, and 5S methodologies, including Kaizen and Gemba.

• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to work in hot, humid, or cold environments.
• Ability to crouch, kneel, and stoop for prolonged periods.
• Ability to climb ladders as needed.
