Job Description We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate ER Veterinary Technician to join our Emergency Room team! The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, excellent communication skills, be detail-oriented, and have a passion for providing high-quality care to animals in a fast-paced environment.
Triage incoming urgent and emergency patients with calm, confident technical care.
Collect and analyze lab samples, run in-house diagnostics, and support imaging workflows.
Assist with digital radiology, ultrasound, and advanced diagnostics.
Provide nursing care for hospitalized patients with varying levels of stability.
Prepare for surgery, assist doctors, and monitor anesthesia with attention to detail.
Help shape best practices as our emergency care model continues to grow.
2+ years professional veterinary technician or veterinary assistant experience is required .
~ Previous vet med ER experience is required for this position.
~ Comfort with anesthesia, diagnostics, patient restraint, venipuncture, and nursing care.
~ Comprehensive knowledge of veterinary procedures, preventative care, and hospital operations.
~ A steady, reliable teammate available for weekends, late evenings, and overnight shifts .
~ Expertise in safe and low-stress animal restraint techniques.
~ Proficiency in various sample collection methods, including blood, urine, fecal, and skin specimens.
~ Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with exposure to animal-related hazards.
Preferred Skills for ER Technician:
Critical care anesthesia experience, including operating room and ventilator management.
Strong proficiency in anesthesia administration and surgical monitoring.
High level of comfort with medical math and dosage calculations.
