Staff Accountant

Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to support financial operations and ensure accurate recording of transactions. This long-term contract position is based in Mt. Holly, New Jersey, and offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to a dynamic team while enhancing your accounting expertise. Ideal candidates will have a strong background in reconciliations and journal entries, along with proficiency in GAAP and Microsoft Excel.

Responsibilities:

- Perform account reconciliations to ensure financial data accuracy and resolve discrepancies.

- Prepare and post journal entries in compliance with established accounting principles.

- Maintain adherence to GAAP standards in all financial reporting processes.

- Utilize Microsoft Excel to analyze financial data and create detailed reports.

- Support month-end and year-end closing procedures to meet company deadlines.

- Collaborate with other departments to gather necessary financial information.

- Assist in auditing processes by compiling and reviewing relevant documentation.

- Monitor financial transactions and ensure proper documentation for all activities.

- Provide insights and recommendations to improve accounting processes and efficiency. Requirements - Minimum of 3 years of experience in reconciliations and journal entries.

- Strong understanding of GAAP and its application in accounting practices.

- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including advanced functions and data analysis.

- Excellent attention to detail and ability to identify discrepancies in financial records.

- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.

- Clear communication abilities, both written and verbal.

- Experience with month-end and year-end closing processes.

- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
