Full-Time Teacher Assistant

Burlington County Special Services School District Westampton Campus
Position Summary:
The Burlington County Special Services School District (BCSSSD) is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Teacher Assistant to join our team full-time. The ideal candidate will be passionate about supporting students with unique abilities and committed to fostering a safe, inclusive, and engaging educational environment.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent (required);
Associate's Degree (preferred) - Experience working with children with disabilities (preferred)
- Demonstrated ability to support students with significant educational and behavioral challenges
- Willingness to work with a diverse student population
- Ability to maintain confidentiality regarding students, staff, and school matters
- Physical ability to perform duties, including frequent bending and lifting (up to 50 lbs)
Primary Responsibilities:
- Assist certified teachers in planning and implementing daily activities
- Support instructional efforts and reinforce learning objectives
- Prepare lesson materials and classroom activities
- Help ensure a safe and supportive learning environment for all students
- Collaborate with team members to support student success
Salary & Benefits:
Annual Salary Range: $23,454 $ 30,582
Note:
Starting salaries typically fall within the lower portion of the range due to collective bargaining agreements.

Schedule:
Monday Friday, 8:00 AM 3:00 PM (aligned with student school schedule)
Additional Information:
- Must pass a criminal history background check
- Proof of U.S. citizenship or legal resident alien status required
- Must establish NJ residency within one year of hire
