Civil Construction Project Manager
A well-established civil construction company is seeking an experienced Project Manager to oversee complex civil construction projects with a strong focus on earthwork, demolition, site development, grading, and erosion control.
Responsibilities
- Manage civil construction projects from preconstruction through final completion
- Oversee earthwork, excavation, grading, site preparation, and mass excavation
- Coordinate demolition activities, including site clearing, structural demolition, and debris removal
- Manage erosion and sediment control, stormwater systems, and environmental compliance
- Review plans, specifications, contracts, and project documents
- Coordinate subcontractors, vendors, suppliers, inspectors, and field personnel
- Track project costs, change orders, RFIs, submittals, and purchase orders
- Conduct regular project meetings and communicate effectively with owners, engineers, architects, and subcontractors
- Identify potential project issues and develop solutions to keep projects on schedule and within budget
- Ensure projects comply with all applicable safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements
- Prepare and review project reports, schedules, forecasts, and financial documentation
- Maintain strong relationships with clients and ensure projects exceed expectations
Qualifications
- 5+ years of civil construction project management experience
- Experience with earthwork, excavation, demolition, grading, and site development
- Strong understanding of erosion and sediment control and stormwater management
- Ability to read and interpret civil construction plans, specifications, and contracts
- Proven experience managing project budgets, schedules, subcontractors, and change orders
- Strong knowledge of construction means, methods, and materials
- Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills
- Proficiency with construction management and scheduling software
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field is preferred but not required
