Safety Team Lead
We are looking for a Safety Team Lead to join our team at the Mount Juliet, TN Manufacturing Plant. You will be responsible for ensuring a safe working environment within the facility by developing, implementing, and maintaining safety programs and procedures and best work practices. This role combines front‑line safety leadership and support, technical expertise, and strong communication skills to promote an A+ safety culture.
Key Responsibilities- Creating and maintaining comprehensive safety policies, procedures, training, and best work practices tailored to each department within the plant.
- Conducting safety audits and inspections—regularly assessing the facility for hazards, ensuring compliance with safety regulations such as OSHA, and identifying areas for improvement.
- Providing safety training—educating employees on safety procedures, the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE), and emergency response protocols.
- Promoting a safety culture—fostering a positive safety culture through communication, leadership, and engagement with employees at all levels.
- Maintaining safety records—keeping accurate records of training, inspections, incidents, and corrective actions.
- Staying updated on regulations.
- Collaborating with management—communicating with employees, management, agencies, and other stakeholders cross‑functionally regarding safety initiatives, addressing safety concerns, and promoting a positive safety culture.
- Managing PPE—ensuring the proper maintenance, availability, and discipline of necessary PPE at all times.
- Emergency response—supporting emergency response plans and coordinating with emergency personnel as needed.
- Education:
- A bachelor’s degree in occupational health and safety, engineering, or a related field is often preferred.
- 1 year relevant work experience required.
- Experience:
- 1 year relevant experience supporting safety initiatives within a manufacturing environment required.
- Knowledge:
- Strong understanding of safety regulations, hazard identification, and risk assessment.
- Skills:
- Excellent communication, training, and interpersonal skills, as well as strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
- Adaptable mindset—safety initiatives may differ by department; what works for one may not work for another.
- Physical requirements:
- Work is performed in a manufacturing environment where prolonged standing is required for the duration of the shift.
- Requires the ability to reach overhead, pull, push, bend, squat, and climb a ladder.
- Ability to lift 26 pounds occasionally or 22 pounds independently and repetitively.
