Job Description

Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse) will support plasma center operations and work under the guidance of the Center Manager and Center Physician. The role includes determining donor eligibility, managing donor adverse events, reviewing laboratory test results, supervising donor notification of unsuitable test results, providing medical support, and ensuring compliance with plasma collection regulations and EHS policies.

• Determine donor eligibility: manage informed consent, AIDS education, self‑exclusion, medical history interview, physical examination, blood testing, and review of serological protein electrophoresis (SPE).
• Evaluate donor reactions and manage medical emergencies per SOPs, including donor transport to emergency care.
• Refer to the Center Physician or Medical Affairs for unacceptable findings or medical/technical guidance.
• Support hepatitis B and seasonal flu vaccination programs for employees.
• Manage employee incidents and refer to occupational health/EHS guidance for further evaluation.
• Serve as Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS and support investigations related to pandemic threats.

• High school diploma or equivalent plus a recognized educational nursing program, meeting state requirements.
• Current state licensure or certification (EMT‑Paramedic).
• Current CPR and AED certification.
• Fulfill state requirements for basic IV therapy.
• Complete FDA approved training for Bio Life Medical Support Specialist.
• Two years in a clinical or hospital setting.

U.S. Hourly Wage Range: $25.60 - $35.20. Salary reflects qualifications, experience, skills, education, certifications, and location. Wage will comply with state or local minimum wage requirements.
