Food & Consumables Coach

Position Summary

This role is responsible for leading and developing teams effectively by teaching, training, and actively listening to associates touring stores and providing feedback. The leader will Tour to Teach, communicating and collaborating with all levels of associates regarding store operations utilizing technology, business initiatives, merchandising and company direction. They will introduce and lead company change efforts, providing clear expectations and guidance to implement business solutions and communicate objectives.

They model and demonstrate exceptional customer service standards to store associates by following the One Best Way (OBW) service model and manage customer service initiatives such as community outreach programs. They ensure customer needs, complaints and issues are resolved, develop and implement action plans, and provide process improvement leadership to maintain a high quality customer experience. They drive the financial performance and sales of the designated store area by reviewing PL statements, managing budgeting, forecasting and controlling expenses.

They oversee merchandise presentation, seasonal transitions, inventory flow, and operational processes, mitigating shrink and ensuring sales and profit goals. They supervise and develop hourly associates, recruiting and developing qualified staff, creating a culture of belonging. They support key stakeholders, develop plans, measure progress, address improvement opportunities, and promote continuous learning, while ensuring compliance with company policies, the Open Door Policy, and Walmart values.

Annual salary range: $65,000.00 - $80,000.00. Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses. Regional Pay Zone and Complex Structure may apply. State Pay Differential may be provided. • 2 years of college; OR 1 year of retail experience and 1 year of supervisory experience; OR 2 years of general work experience and 1 year of supervisory experience.
• For facilities that sell firearms: successful completion of a firearms‑specific Criminal Background Check (CBC) and Firearms Authorized Training.
• For facilities that sell only ammunition and have state specific requirements: current state‑issued Certificate of Eligibility.
• Required to attend and complete all job‑required trainings and assessments.

• Bachelor of Science in Business Management and Leadership through Live Better U and Bellevue University.
• Certificate of Completion in People and Business Leadership through Live Better U and Bellevue University.
• General work experience supervising 5 or more direct reports, inclusive of performance management, mentoring, hiring, and firing.
