Role Information

Title: Warehouse

Reports to: Warehouse Supervisor or another Manager

Customers served: External – All Summit customers;
Internal – Any member of the Summit team

Location/Scope: Summit Electric Supply operates throughout Arizona, New Mexico, Texas, and Louisiana and is part of the Sonepar group, the world’s #1 electrical distributor with over 45,000 associates around the globe.

Role Summary

Summit’s warehouse associates fulfill customer needs for materials and services by receiving new material from vendors, picking customer orders for will call or delivery, and participating in cycle counting and other inventory management practices. This is Summit’s entry-level branch position and an excellent role to learn skills, product knowledge, and industry best practices for future opportunities at Summit.

Principal Accountabilities
  • Pull customer tickets to fulfill orders.
  • Prepare orders for shipment to customers.
  • Load and unload Summit trucks.
  • Receive and stock products daily to replenish inventory.
  • Understand products and their capabilities and warranties.
  • Assist sales associates in fulfilling customer orders when necessary.
  • Ensure warehouse and outside areas are neat and clean at all times.
  • Maintain safe practices and uphold Summit’s commitment to a safe workplace.
Essential Qualifications and Experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Time management – strong ability to organize and manage multiple priorities
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, oral and written
  • Flexibility – ability to effectively adapt to change
Beneficial Skills and Experience
  • Previous warehouse experience
  • Ability to perform duties with minimal supervision
  • Aptitude for learning
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to lift 50+ pounds on a regular basis
  • Ability to operate standard warehouse equipment

Pre-employment assessments, drug, and background screens are administered.

Professional appearance required.
