Salary: $52,790.40 - $80,204.80 annually

Join the Mount Pleasant Correctional Facility Business Office as a Budget Analyst 2. In this role you will manage budgeting, accounting, and bookkeeping for a $30 million budget while supporting mission-driven operations that focus on helping people become their best.

• Perform professional government budget analysis.
• Collect and analyze budgetary and fiscal data.
• Provide guidance on budget formulation, program operations, and appropriations while ensuring compliance with executive policies and legislative intent.
• Identify financial issues, variances, and program impact, and recommend corrective budgetary action to management.
• Provide guidance and expertise in compiling data for the annual audit.
• Complete monthly financial reports for administration.

• Proficiency in Excel.
• Familiarity with general accounting principles.
• Experience compiling data for audits.

• Ability to maintain confidentiality.

• Graduation from an accredited four‑year college or university with a degree in accounting, finance, or business administration and at least two years of full‑time professional budget analysis or fiscal management experience.
• Alternatively, two years of full‑time budget analysis experience plus a combination of education and/or experience totaling four years, where 30 semester hours of relevant coursework equals one year of experience.
• Or, a master’s degree in business administration or public administration, one year of full‑time budget analysis experience, and a total of four years of education and/or experience as described above.
• Or, current continuous experience in the state executive branch with at least eighteen months of full‑time work as a Budget Analyst 1.
