Production Supervisor; 2nd Shift

Cornerstone Building Brands is looking for a Production Supervisor for our Mt Pleasant, IA facility. As a production supervisor, you will be responsible for managing a diverse and talented manufacturing team within one of our metal buildings business units. Your primary goal is to organize staff members and achieve a reasonable workflow throughout the day, while directing, disciplining, training, and assisting manufacturing team employees in a factory setting.

This position will be 3:30 p.m. – 12 a.m., Monday through Friday.

• Facilitate the manufacture of building products to meet production demands, while ensuring quality, safety, and productivity.
• Collaborate with plant leadership to develop staffing guidelines, optimizing resource utilization while controlling costs.
• Hire, supervise, evaluate, and replace staff as required to meet performance goals.
• Develop and train employees for increasing responsibilities, conduct periodic evaluations, and hold safety and production meetings daily. Drive initiatives of 5S, cost reduction, and quality improvement.
• Conduct interviews and identify qualified candidates for hire.
• Assign personnel, oversee rotations, and maintain effective communication during shift changes and troubleshooting.
• Ensure accurate completion of paperwork related to line operation, including logs, audits, and corrective actions.
• Readily address any urgent production or shipping requirements, even if it disrupts the regular workflow; maintain knowledge of all safety policies and regulations and ability to address unsafe acts and conditions.
• Administer policies fairly and consistently.
• Provide coaching and counseling to employees and corrective action when needed, following company guidelines.
• Promote overall company goals in safety, quality, delivery, and cost.
• Identify and assist with implementations for continuous process improvement; use data to improve and refine production processes.
• Manage materials to reduce waste and support quality.
• Collaborate with other departments to ensure timely job completions.
• Demonstrate highly developed oral and written communication skills, and combine them with the ability to educate and train employees in a production environment.

• High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
• Associate degree or bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred but not required.
• Minimum of two years of leadership experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Demonstrated ability to supervise, motivate, mentor, and train employees on a regular basis.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
