Quick Visit Urgent Care is here to provide accessible, affordable healthcare in your hometown for all ages. We offer a broad range of services such as onsite x‑ray, health management, cold and flu treatment, sutures, and much more. We are currently looking for a full‑time Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to become a part of our team.
Overall ResponsibilityYou will provide basic clinical care to patients commensurate with your medical education. Duties include performing initial clinical evaluations, urgent care procedures, preparing patients for advanced registered nurse practitioner evaluation, taking histories, establishing vital signs, documenting, and supporting ongoing care.
Key Tasks And Responsibilities- Greets patients in a polite, prompt, and helpful manner.
- Triage patients, recording all vitals, medical history, and entering information accurately into the EMR.
- Prepare new and existing patient charts with the appropriate forms, ensuring copies are dated, initiated, and placed in the patient’s file.
- Retrieve required signatures on forms.
- Collect, verify, and copy patient insurance information.
- Maintain medical records according to policy, copying and transferring records when indicated.
- Maintain a clean and orderly office and waiting area.
- Order supplies for the office within budgetary guidelines.
- Follow protocols that provide medical authority when indicated in providing care.
- Perform complete physical exams and assessments of patients including urgent, emergent, and non‑urgent presentations.
- Select, order, and perform tests and procedures to augment physical findings.
- Define and document differential diagnoses.
- Write orders on physician order sheets for tests, procedures, and therapies in accordance with medical nursing protocols.
- Perform diagnostic and therapeutic procedures as deemed necessary and appropriate for a plan of care, in collaboration with supervising physicians.
- Interpret data and diagnostic results for an appropriate course of action, including blood gases, radiology, and EKG, in collaboration with supervising physicians.
- Notate findings and treatment courses in the inpatient chart, including follow‑up notes.
- Complete all lab tests as ordered by the provider on staff.
- Assist with patient registration, clinic patient callbacks, and other duties as needed.
- Maintain regular and sustained attendance.
- Ability to accurately read and write medical terminology.
- Ability to work all shifts including day, evening, and weekend hours as needed.
- Ability to escort or transport patients by wheelchair or stretcher when appropriate.
- Basic computer skills, including familiarity with electronic medical records.
- Detail‑oriented with excellent interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively with patients and medical staff.
- 12‑hour shift

RequirementsEducation and Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent and graduation from an accredited program.
- LPN license in the State of Iowa.
- BLS required.
- Adult and Child Mandatory Reporter Training.
- 1 year of experience preferred.
