Job Description SCOPE OF ROLE

The Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) Technician I supports the implementation and maintenance of workplace safety and environmental programs. This role assists in ensuring compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations while promoting a safe and sustainable work environment. The EHS Technician I works under guidance to monitor safety practices, conduct inspections, and support continuous improvement initiatives.

KEY OBJECTIVES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Regulatory Compliance: Assist in ensuring adherence to OSHA, EPA, and other applicable safety and environmental regulations.
  • Inspection & Risk Identification: Support routine workplace inspections and hazard assessments to identify potential risks and unsafe conditions.
  • Incident Investigation Support: Assist with incident investigations, including documenting findings and helping identify root causes and corrective actions.
  • Safety Training: Help coordinate and deliver basic safety training programs, including new hire orientation and recurring safety topics.
  • Data Collection & Reporting: Maintain safety records, track basic safety metrics, and assist with report preparation.
  • Environmental Support: Assist with waste management, recycling programs, and environmental compliance activities.

Emergency Preparedness: Support emergency response planning, drills, and preparedness initiatives.

Qualifications QUALIFICATIONS
  • 0–2 years of experience in a manufacturing, industrial, or related environment (internship/co-op experience acceptable)
  • Basic knowledge of OSHA regulations or workplace safety principles preferred
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize work effectively
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
Additional Information REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
  • Basic understanding of OSHA safety standards and workplace safety practices
  • Ability to identify hazards and recognize unsafe conditions
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Effective communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Ability to follow established procedures and work under supervision
  • Basic knowledge of incident reporting and documentation practices
  • Ability to support safety training and engage with employees
  • Willingness to learn industrial hygiene, ergonomics, and safety auditing practices

  • Lifting Capacity – ability to lift up 30 lbs.
  • Mobility – prolonged periods of time on feet, standing, bending, etc.
  • Exposure – moving mechanical parts, fumes, airborne particles, and non‑climate‑controlled environment.
