Position Title
Position Title ADMINISTRATIVE OFFICE ASSISTANT II/PT
Position Summary
Provides administrative support services to the Department of Teacher and Special Education at Central Michigan programs within the College of Education and Human Services. It has a majority of effort associated with secretarial support services or program‑related activities, including duties for handling substantive secretarial/administrative details as directed by the TSE Department Chair. This individual serves as the secondary support office professional for TSE and the first point of contact for many programs, especially our Master of Arts in Special Education and 2+CMU community college transfer program.
Additionally, the Admin Office Assistant ( AOA ) for The Literacy Center and the Chippewa River Writing Project will support the development of programming, facilitate administrative tasks related to that program, and assist in the coordination and continuation of in-progress initiatives. These specific outcomes will support Center/Project programming, development, and expansion- both regionally and throughout the state.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED .
- Three years of qualifying experience or a combination of education and experience that equates to three years.
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite
- Customer service experience.
- Organizational skills with strong attention to detail.
- Demonstrated positive interpersonal skills.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to project a positive attitude.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines with accurate results.
- Ability to compose, proofread and edit correspondence.
Preferred Qualifications
- Associates degree in a business-related field or accounting background.
- Experience working with a diverse group.
- Spreadsheet and/or database experience.
- Student services and academic program accreditation experiences.
- Experience coordinating the work of others.
- Experience with Excel and Outlook.
- Experience working with financial records.
- Experience with SAP and Time Clock Plus.
