About the Position
Seeking a Certified Emergency Medicine PA for locum coverage starting March 1, 2026. This role is part of a growing float pool covering PRN emergency department shifts. The provider will work autonomously during assigned shifts with an on-site physician always available for consultation. This opportunity supports coverage during a recruitment gap in a moderate-volume emergency department.

Job Responsibilities

Evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients in the emergency department

Manage an average daily patient volume of approximately 20 patients

Independently see patients with physician support available as needed

Respond to emergency cases, including trauma and house codes

Coordinate referrals and transfers to higher-level care facilities

Document patient encounters using EMR

Collaborate with ED staff, consultants, and hospital teams

Working Hours

Day shifts only

see daily: 11:00 AM – 9:00 PM

No weekend or on-call requirements

PRN shifts distributed via float pool email notifications

Skills

Emergency medicine clinical assessment and decision-making

Ability to work autonomously in a fast-paced ED environment

Trauma and acute care management

Strong communication and collaboration skills

Proficiency with electronic medical records

Efficient patient flow and disposition management

Requirements

Certified PA (Required)

Active Michigan License at time of name clear (Required; IMLC not accepted)

ACLS and PALS Certifications (Required)

DEA (Verbal confirmation required at name clear)

Minimum clean background for expedited credentialing

Local candidate required (no exceptions)

NPDB Self-Query (pulled within 30 days of presentation)

Required immunizations and occupational health clearance
