Women's Health Center of Isabella Citizens for Health has a mission to provide the highest level of health care, yielding an improved quality of life in central Michigan through access to team-based care.
Job Summary:The Physician systematically assesses patient's health status, arrives at appropriate diagnosis(es), and implements care plans for effective clinical outcomes. Physicians of the Center are a part of a multi-disciplinary health care team.
Isabella Citizens for Health is an approved site for loan repayment under the National Health Service Corps. The Women's Health Center is located within McLaren Central Michigan Hospital, where our physicians have access to advanced robotic-assisted surgical technology in the hospital's operating room.
Provides preventative care and treatment to patients for various health conditions, including but not limited to pregnancy, childbirth, menstrual cycle issues, menopause, sexually transmitted infections, and other reproductive health conditions.
Provides prenatal care, labor and delivery, and postpartum care for pregnant women.
Performs appropriate medical procedures within the scope of practice as defined by the Center's credentialing and privileging processes such as pap smear tests, pelvic exams, breast exams, colposcopies, IUDs, and biopsies.
Considers thorough range of treatment/preventive options and arrives at a recommended course of action that is age appropriate, culturally appropriate, realistic and attainable.
Performs surgeries including cesarean sections, hysterectomies, and laparoscopies.
Makes Telehealth services available to patients, when appropriate.
Collaborates with other healthcare professionals, including nurses, emergency medicine staff, anesthesiologists, other primary care providers, and pediatricians as necessary to provide comprehensive care to patients.
Maintains accurate and up-to-date medical records, including patient history, diagnosis, treatment plans, and progress reports.
Provides education and counseling to patients regarding reproductive health, contraception, sexually transmitted infections, mental health, and other related issues.
Communicates effectively with patients and their caregivers so that they understand their diagnosis, treatment plans and need for follow-up care.
Refers patients to specialists as necessary to assist and encourage patients to seek the most appropriate care, diagnosis, and treatment.
Responds to incoming patient referrals from collaborating providers in a professional and timely manner.
Documents and completes patient charts in a timely manner.
Responds appropriately to urgent or emergent situations.
Reviews and follows-up on patient complaints and concerns about medical care.
Strives to create patient access to care.
Achieves patient care hours as outlined in the employment agreement.
Fulfills commitments for call assignments with clear communication and follow up.
Supports appropriate billing for professional service through timely documentation and maintaining adequate knowledge of the Center's billing policies and procedures.
Adheres to all Center policies, procedures and practice guidelines.
Assists with third party payor pay-for-performance and value-based purchasing programs for which the Center participates.
Responds to requests for correspondence in a timely manner.
Appropriately prescribes and orders ancillary services.
Utilizes referral network as necessary to effectively treat patient conditions and/or concerns.
Promotes an appropriate length of stay for hospitalized patients.
Leverages and optimizes Center's information technology systems to gain efficiencies.
Serves as a resource to colleagues and support staff, promoting teamwork and enhancing quality of care.
Participates in the training and evaluation of clinic support staff, as requested.
Regularly attends and actively participates in provider meetings.
Participates in community education and other professional activities to promote Center services.
Is aware of different patient needs/desires.
Takes action to meet patient needs/desires with respect to patient diversity.
