  • Must attend mandatory meetings
  • Must be at least 18 years old
  • Must serve as an effective role model for students and subordinates
  • Outstanding public speaking skills
  • Applicants who are not licensed as an instructor/coordinator must obtain licensure as an instructor/coordinator within 6 months of hire, or 45 calendar days from the completion of the approved instructor/coordinator course, whichever occurs first
  • Progress toward licensure will be monitored throughout employment. Failure to demonstrate satisfactory progress or obtain licensure within the required timeframe may result in removal from the trainee role, reassignment, or termination of employment. MMR will pay for the trainee’s initial I/C course and license. However, if the trainee requires several attempts to successfully complete the course, within the 6-month window, the trainee is solely responsible for the cost of any additional courses beyond the first course completed and paid for by MMR.

If the trainee fails to successfully obtain an I/C license with the State allowed 3 attempts, the trainee is no longer eligible to remain in the position. Taking a state‑approved refresher course isn't an option to remain in the trainee position, even if it is within the first six months of hire. The organization reserves the right to modify timelines based on operational needs, candidate performance, or program availability
  • Internal candidate must serve in the education division for 2 years after licensing as an I/C
