Position Title

Position Title ASSOCIATE ATHLETIC TRAINER

Position Summary

The Associate Athletic Trainer is a certified and licensed healthcare professional responsible for delivering comprehensive athletic training services to Central Michigan University ( CMU ) intercollegiate student-athletes. This position plays an integral role within the Sports Medicine team and reports to the Senior Associate Athletic Director for Sports Medicine.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor s or Master’s degree in Athletic Training from an accredited institution.
Three years of full-time experience as a certified athletic trainer.
Certified Athletic Trainer in good standing with the National Athletic Trainers Association Board of Certification ( NATABOC ).
Current licensure, as an Athletic Trainer in the State of Michigan, or eligibility for licensure upon hire.
Current CPR / AED certification for the healthcare provider or equivalent.
Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly, effectively, and professionally with student-athletes, coaches, and healthcare professionals.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple responsibilities and priorities.
Willingness and availability to travel and work irregular hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Preferred Qualifications

Master s degree in Athletic Training, Sports Medicine, Kinesiology, or a related field.
Four years of full-time experience as a certified athletic trainer.
Experience as a certified athletic trainer at the professional, Olympic, national team, or NCAA Division I collegiate level.
Extensive background in the rehabilitation of both surgical and non-surgical upper and lower extremity injuries.
Advanced certifications such as Graston Technique, Instrument-Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization ( IASTM ), Active Release Techniques ( ART ), Certified
Strength and Conditioning Specialist ( CSCS ), Performance Enhancement Specialist ( PES ), or Corrective Exercise Specialist ( CES ). Familiarity with electronic medical records ( EMR ) and injury tracking software (e.g., ATS , Healthy Roster, Sports Ware).
Demonstrated supervisory experience in a clinical or athletic training setting.
Proven ability to mentor and support the development of athletic training students, graduate assistants, interns, and/or professional staff members.
