Position Summary
The Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) or Physician Assistant (PA) is responsible for direct patient care and for other administrative duties as designated by the Dean and his/her designee. The Medical Director provides the overall direction for all patient care activities.
Required Qualifications- Graduation from an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant educational program.
- Member of the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners (AANP), as applicable.
- Existing unrestricted license to practice in Michigan, or license eligibility in Michigan.
- Two years of post graduate clinical experience.
- Experience working with Electronic Medical Records and computers.
- Experience in an Academic Medical Center, Urgent Care, Walk In Clinic or teaching environment.
- Practice medicine using sound medical judgment and adhere to all ethical considerations of the practice of medicine; know limitations and seek consult when advisable; keep abreast of current technologies and industry standards.
- Follow all internal policies and procedures; be accountable for completion of all operational tasks according to departmental guidelines to ensure appropriate clinical documentation supporting sound medical billing, compliance, the handling of PHI, and the financial viability of clinical services.
- Successfully complete EPIC EMR training and system use.
- Openly work with administrative leadership to understand productivity benchmarking, including use of relative value units (RVU) targets.
- Advise administration of any issues that may impact clinical operations.
- See patients in a timely and efficient manner per current practice management protocols, including open patient access, wait times, patient throughput and client satisfaction.
- Complete and attest open encounters the same day as the patient.
