The Registered Nurse plans, coordinates, and provides total nursing care for residents and provides supervision and guidance to clinical staff members.

• Graduate of an accredited RN school of nursing.
• Valid RN license in the state of employment.
• Valid CPR certification.
• One year of nursing experience preferred.

• Initiate and lead team conferences in the development of individualized nursing care plans.
• Assess and document the resident’s condition and nursing needs.
• Accurately and promptly implement physicians’ orders.
• Assign nursing care to team members in accordance with the resident’s needs and the person’s capabilities and qualifications.
• Supervise, direct, and evaluate LPNs, LVNs, and CNAs.
• Administer medications, start IVs, and perform treatments for assigned residents, and document that treatment as required by company, and local, state and federal rules and regulations.
• Participate in orientation and in‑service training for personnel.
• Assist physicians with special tests and procedures within the scope of state specified Nursing Practice Act.
• Ensure that supplies are utilized economically and that equipment is clean and maintained in a safe manner.
• Report and record pertinent observations and reactions regarding residents.
• Coordinate nursing care of residents when scheduled for therapy or procedures by other departments.
• Interview applicants and recommend hires. Participate in counseling, disciplinary action, and termination of staff to the extent permitted by state practice act.
• Supervise nursing unit, which includes scheduling and directing the nursing staff to the extent permitted by state practice act.
• Perform other tasks as assigned.
