Plasma Center Paramedic – EMT-P

Job Description

As a Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse), you will support plasma center operations under the guidance of the Center Manager and the Center Physician. The role involves determining donor eligibility, managing donor adverse events, reviewing laboratory test results, and notifying donors of unsuitable test results. You will also provide center level support for environmental, health and safety (EHS), and collaborate with Medical Affairs on medical or technical issues.

• Determine donor eligibility, including informed consent, medical history, physical examination, blood testing, and reviewing serological protein electrophoresis (SPE).
• Evaluate donor reactions and follow SOPs for medical emergencies, including standing orders and transport to emergency care.
• Refer to the Center Physician or Medical Affairs for medical findings or guidance.
• Support Hepatitis B and seasonal flu vaccination programs for employees.
• Manage employee incidents and coordinate further evaluation with occupational health/ER and EHS guidance.
• Serve as Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS and support investigations related to pandemic threats.

• High school diploma or equivalent to graduate degree in a recognized nursing program with state requirements.
• Currently licensed or certified in the state of assignment: EMT-Paramedic.
• Current CPR and AED certification.
• Fulfill state requirements for basic IV therapy.
• Complete FDA approved training for Bio Life Medical Support Specialist.
• Minimum two years in a clinical or hospital setting.

U.S. Hourly Wage Range:

$23.04 - $31.68
