Job Shift: 1st Shift
- Coordinate with plant management to ensure compliance with applicable federal, state and local environmental, health and safety laws and regulations and corporate EHS requirements (SMS/EMS and specific policies).
- Assist in the development of site EHS plans, including budgetary requirements; coordinate plan implementation, monitor status, update documents, communicate issues to management and report status on a routine basis.
- Provide technical EHS support and direction for continuing operations, evaluation of new equipment and processes, contractor services, etc.
- Ensure all team members comply with EHS regulations through training, auditing, inspecting, and providing leadership.
- Work closely with the EHS Manager to identify gaps in the safety program, research and develop new initiatives, and roll out new initiatives to the team.
- Conduct inspections and audits to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and company EHS policies and procedures; take appropriate action when deficiencies are found and track corrective actions to completion.
- Implement actions to reduce risk and drive toward zero incidents.
- Cover EHS Manager’s absence.
- Train, observe, authorize and track records for facility programs that require an onsite trainer such as PIV, LOTO, etc.
- Identify safety project needs, provide management with recommendations, and manage safety projects.
- Promote proactive safety participation by all employees to ensure incidents, near misses, and unsafe conditions are reported, investigated, and resolved appropriately.
- Coordinate and schedule safety trainings and orientations, prepare training certificates and track all employee trainings.
- Maintain accurate records of safety inspections, incident reports, training sessions and regulatory compliance documentation.
- Conduct routine safety audits in the facility, assess areas of concern and recommend corrective actions.
- Contribute to the safety committee, monitor the progress of safety initiatives.
- Consistently operate in a manner that aligns to the Company Core Values.
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes and hazards.
- Working knowledge of manufacturing safety standards, procedures, and documentation.
- OSHA 30 preferred.
- Comfortable presenting and training large groups of employees.
- Proficient in MS Office and able to use computer programs to develop professional training material.
