The following position is available for the school year.
Reports To:
Building Principal
FTE Position Building: 1.0 School Social Worker District
Required Qualifications:
- Master's in Social Work~Clinical License
- 500+ clock hours of a supervised social work practicum At least 1 year of experience as a school social worker with direction from a fully approved social worker
- Experience working with school age students.
- Professional tact, diplomacy and presentation with administrators, staff, teachers, students, parents and community members
- Competency in oral and written communications
- Has undergone a physical examination, by a licensed physician, that documents capability to perform required duties
- Has an electronic fingerprint clearance from a criminal history record check
Responsibilities:
- Performs casework service with individual students to correct those personal, social, or emotional maladjustments related to their educational and social progress. Coordinates or serves as a member of diagnostic teams and educational planning and placement committees and provides biological, psychological, and sociological assessment information related to the planning for students with identified concerns.
- Collaboration with counseling department colleagues, regarding grade level programming and planning
- Consults and collaborates with other school personnel in gathering and giving information, and in establishing and planning for respective roles in the modification of student behavior.
- Performs casework service with parents as an integral part of helping students by increasing their understanding of how to constructively participate in resolving a student problem(s), and with sharing of own knowledge of appropriate available resources.
- Makes home visits for the purpose of gathering helpful background information related to the student.

Compensation:
According to the negotiated Master Agreement with the Mt. Pleasant Support Personnel Association.
