Position: SER Inventory Control Warehouse FT- Inventory Control

Overview

Under the supervision of the Inventory Control Supervisor, verify and keep records on incoming and outgoing shipments and prepare items for shipment. Maintain an accurate record of the items stored.

Responsibilities
  • Perform warehouse duties to support receiving, storage, movement, and distribution of assets.
  • Receive product from vendors; store product to maximize space using proper handling and safety techniques, including quality inspection of incoming and outgoing inventory.
  • Maintain current data in receiving software and spreadsheets; ensure all transactions are properly documented, accurate, and completed.
  • Count, weigh, or measure items in shipments and verify information against bills of lading, invoices, orders, or records.
  • Post weights and shipping charges and affix postage.
  • Unpack and examine shipments, reject damaged items, record shortages, and coordinate with shippers to rectify damages and shortages.
  • Complete equipment inspection at the start of shift and report defects in the vehicle log and to the supervisor.
  • Conduct daily power equipment inspections to ensure safety compliance.
  • Operate warehouse equipment and forklifts per safe operating procedures; maintain required permits and licenses as applicable.
  • Deliver and move product from warehouse to site; prepare shipping orders to meet cutoff times; stage and document outgoing product and obtain signatures for delivered goods.
  • Return customer-refused products, restock incorrect picks, notify supervisor on returns, and schedule pickups from shipping/trucking companies.
  • Follow FIFO methodology in daily tasks.
  • Perform physical inventories and assist with research, auditing, and data entry.
  • Assist in daily general maintenance and cleanup of work areas.
  • Provide excellent customer service for internal and external customers; focus on customer service as a priority.
  • Maintain confidentiality and present a professional demeanor at all times.

Contacts / Purpose of Contacts
  • Coordinate with vendors, purchasing team members, and others to ensure secure and efficient deliveries and to investigate shipment issues.
  • Communicate with the Inventory Control Supervisor and team members for daily direction.
Minimum Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Experience operating warehouse equipment including forklifts and riding cleaning machines.
  • Experience on stand-up or sit-down forklift or ability to be certified prior to 90-day probation.
  • Good communication and computer skills; ability to handle tasks in a busy environment.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a gaming license as required for employment.
Desired Qualifications
  • One year of receiving or warehouse experience with warehouse equipment.
Licenses, Certifications, or

Special Requirements
  • Must obtain Fork Lift certification within 90 days of hire/transfer.
  • Must have a valid Michigan driver's license with designation required for the vehicle used for job duties;
    Tribal Driver’s License may be required for certain fleet vehicles.
  • Native American preference applies to all positions.

  • Knowledge of inventory control, supplies, equipment, and services ordering.
  • Knowledge of computerized information systems.
  • Skill in operating business computers and office software (Word, Excel).
  • Skill in operating warehouse equipment.
  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to establish professional relationships across diverse groups.
  • Ability to create, compose, and edit written materials.
  • Ability to follow verbal or written instructions.
Physical Demands
  • Frequent use of hands, wrists, and fingers related to computer equipment.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and reach; work in a high-volume environment.
  • Climb ladders; lift and carry up to 90 pounds occasionally.
  • Work in a normal warehouse environment with powered equipment.
  • Occasional exposure to chemicals and smoke; extended hours or irregular shifts may be required.
