Staff Accountant

Description

We are looking for a Staff Accountant to support core accounting operations and help maintain accurate financial records for the organization. This role is well suited for someone who can manage recurring reporting, prepare key accounting entries, and contribute to a smooth month-end close process. The ideal candidate brings a strong foundation in general ledger activity, reconciliations, and financial analysis, along with advanced Excel skills.

Responsibilities:

- Prepare and record journal entries to ensure financial transactions are captured accurately and on schedule.

- Manage accrual calculations and supporting documentation to reflect complete and timely period-end reporting.

- Produce recurring sales-related financial reports and validate underlying data for accuracy and consistency.

- Compile and review commission reporting, ensuring calculations align with established compensation guidelines.

- Develop rebate reports and track related accounting activity to support financial visibility and compliance.

- Reconcile general ledger accounts and investigate variances to resolve discrepancies efficiently.

- Assist with month-end close activities by organizing schedules, updating account support, and meeting reporting deadlines.

- Use Excel to analyze financial information, summarize trends, and improve the quality of accounting deliverables.

Requirements - At least 3 years of accounting experience in a staff accountant or similar role.

- Hands-on experience preparing journal entries and working within the general ledger.

- Strong knowledge of accrual accounting and month-end close procedures.

- Experience creating or reviewing commission statements and related reporting.

- Ability to perform account reconciliations with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.

- Proficiency in Excel, including the ability to organize, analyze, and report financial data effectively.

- Strong communication and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines.
