Job Description & How to Apply Below

The Interior Designer at Elizabeth Stuart is an integral member of the design team, responsible for supporting and executing high-level residential and commercial interior design projects with a primary focus on multi-family, workplace, and hospitality environments. This role requires a strong understanding of the full design process from concept development and sourcing through specification, procurement, installation, and construction administration.

Working closely with the Managing Design Director and the broader Elizabeth Stuart design team, the Interior Designer will help bring the firm’s vision to life through thoughtful design solutions, meticulous project coordination, and a strong command of materials, furnishings, finishes, and vendor relationships. This individual must be highly organized, design-driven, and capable of managing multiple projects while balancing client expectations, timelines, budgets, and billing requirements.

The ideal candidate brings creativity, resourcefulness, and a deep appreciation for both the design and operational sides of the business, while maintaining a high standard of professionalism in all client, vendor, and consultant interactions.

Key Responsibilities Project Design & Execution
  • Support the execution of residential and commercial design projects from concept through installation, with a primary focus on multi-family, workplace, and hospitality-driven interiors.
  • Translate the Elizabeth Stuart design vision into thoughtful, functional, and elevated interiors that align with each project’s scope, brand, and client goals.
  • Develop design concepts, furniture plans, finish palettes, elevations, and supporting presentation materials for client review and approval.
  • Source furnishings, textiles, lighting, hardware, art, accessories, and vintage pieces through domestic and international vendors, ensuring selections align with project design intent, budget, and lead time requirements.
  • Prepare design presentations, pricing packages, sample requests, and specification materials in support of project development and approvals.
Project Management & Coordination
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining clear oversight of timelines, deliverables, budgets, and client expectations.
  • Coordinate all phases of the purchasing process, including vendor quotes, client estimates, purchase orders, invoicing, payment tracking, and order follow-up.
  • Track project budgets, billing, and invoicing in partnership with Elizabeth Stuart accounting and client teams.
  • Maintain organized project documentation, specifications, schedules, and procurement records throughout the life of each project.
  • Ensure all project activity is executed with attention to detail, timeliness, and financial accuracy.
  • Support construction administration efforts by coordinating with contractors, consultants, and vendor partners throughout the execution phase of a project.
  • Work alongside external teams to develop and track schedules related to interior finishes, lighting, furniture installation, IT/AV requirements, and MEP coordination.
  • Review shop drawings, vendor specifications, and project documentation to ensure alignment with approved design plans and project requirements.
  • Participate in site visits, installation oversight, punch-list review, and project follow-up to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Serve as a key point of support to the Managing Design Director and broader design team on projects and strategic design initiatives.
  • Build and maintain positive working relationships with clients, vendors, consultants, contractors, and preferred commercial partners.
  • Generate and pursue new client leads with presentations, outreach, and visual marketing materials to support the company growth strategy.
  • Act as a secondary liaison to residential and commercial partners, including CBI and other preferred vendors and project collaborators.
  • Learn and apply the Greystar 360 design approach as it relates to corporate office project standards and client expectations.
  • Represent Elizabeth Stuart with professionalism, responsiveness, and a solutions-oriented mindset in all project communications.
