Middle School Math Teacher

Overview

University School of the Low country, located in Mount Pleasant, SC, is seeking a dynamic, experienced, and innovative Math teacher to join our team. As a co-educational, non-sectarian, non-profit independent school catering to high-achieving students, we are dedicated to developing self-confident, passionate, and intellectually curious learners who strive to make a positive impact on the world. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mathematics education and a passion for teaching students with varying abilities.

In our blended math classes, which are structured based on ability rather than age, the teacher will be responsible for instructing courses such as Algebra Readiness, Pre-Algebra, Algebra, and Geometry. We are looking for an individual who can create an engaging and inclusive learning environment, fostering a love for mathematics and empowering students to reach their full potential.

• Instruct courses such as Algebra Readiness, Pre-Algebra, Algebra, and Geometry in blended classes structured by ability

• Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Mathematics Education, or related field
• Teaching certification or licensure not required but preferred
• Proven experience in teaching math at the high school level
• Ability to differentiate instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Passion for working with high-achieving students
