The Teacher is responsible for fostering a cohesive teaching team, implementing educational curriculum, and managing day-to-day classroom operations to ensure a safe and engaging environment where children can thrive. A skilled communicator, the Teacher must be able to effectively engage with children and adults alike to meet the needs of the children, support teacher assistants, and address parental concerns.
What You'll Do- Develop and implement age-appropriate educational activities based on developmentally sound practices and early learning standards to actively engage children and encourage social, cognitive, and emotional growth.
- Lead by example, promoting team success through modeling and coaching, and encourage a collaborative environment among teaching staff.
- Maintain open communication with parents through regular discussions, progress reports, and parent-teacher conferences to ensure parents are informed and involved in their child's development.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records, forms, and files to ensure compliance with center policies and state regulations.
- Maintain a clean and healthy classroom environment, adhering to standards for hygiene, cleanliness, and child safety and security.
- Supervise teacher assistants and classroom volunteers to ensure they are following planned activities and adhering to established standards.
- Develop and maintain a personal professional development plan to ensure continuous quality improvement and stay abreast of best practices in early childhood education.
- Must possess a minimum of 6 months experience in a licensed child care setting.
- Strong oral and written communication skills and basic computer skills are essential.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with high energy and a willingness to collaborate with others (staff, children, and parents) to foster a positive team environment.
- A strong understanding of child development is crucial for success in this role.
- Infant/child CPR and First Aid certification is required.
- Must clear full background check and pass health screening.
- Associate’s Degree in early childhood education or a related field of study with a minimum of 30 Credits in ECE is required.
- The ability to perform physical tasks such as taking frequent walks, using hands and fingers, handling objects, tools, or controls, talking to and hearing voices at various levels, and kneeling, bending, squatting, or crawling is essential.
- Excellent leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills are necessary for success in this role.
- Must possess specific vision abilities, including the ability to see up close and at a distance, to see colors, have peripheral vision, and depth perception.
- Possession of a CDA Credential is highly desirable.
- Associates of Arts ECE or a related field of study is also highly desirable.
