Plant Engineering & Electrics Automation Specialist

Sirius Staffing is seeking a Plant Engineering & Electrical Automation Specialist to support the planning, design, and implementation of one of our client's electrical systems for advanced automotive assembly operations. This role will play a critical part in launching and optimizing production equipment, ensuring seamless integration between mechanical systems, automation technologies, and shopfloor IT.

• Develop and implement electrical engineering concepts and planning strategies for assembly equipment and production systems
• Design and specify electrical systems in alignment with mechanical requirements and operational needs
• Serve as the primary representative for all electrical matters related to assembly equipment, both internally and with external partners
• Create and manage detailed electrical specifications, including system interfaces and integration requirements
• Coordinate with suppliers and contractors to ensure compliance with technical specifications and project timelines
• Oversee electrical interfaces between equipment, shopfloor IT systems, and other connected technologies
• Review and approve electrical designs; resolve technical issues with vendors and contractors
• Support full project lifecycle from concept development through installation, commissioning, and production launch
• Prepare cost estimates, conduct bid evaluations, and support vendor selection
• Drive continuous improvement through change management, process optimization, and technical enhancements
• Collaborate cross-functionally with production, IT, facilities, and EHS teams
• Ensure compliance with all applicable electrical codes, standards, and safety regulations
• Stay informed on industry trends, emerging technologies, and regulatory requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
• Minimum of High School Diploma or GED
• 5+ years of experience in automotive production environments
• 3+ years of experience in assembly operations
• 3+ years of experience in electrical systems and automation for production equipment
• Strong ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
• Working knowledge of automation technologies, including PLCs, industrial networks, and Siemens TIA Portal
• Familiarity with production systems such as SCADA, MES, and backup/recovery processes
• Experience with electrical design and specification for automotive assembly equipment, including conveyors, semi-automated, and fully automated stations
• Knowledge of applicable electrical standards and regulations (e.g., NEMA, NFPA 79, NEC)

• Master’s degree in Engineering or a related discipline
• Experience with full lifecycle equipment planning from concept through production handover
• Knowledge of cross-functional interfaces including production, IT, shopfloor IT, and facilities
• Strong presentation and communication skills with the ability to influence stakeholders
• Experience with web-based tools and digital applications
• Customer-focused mindset with strong attention to detail
• Proven ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced, high-growth environment
