Job Responsibilities
At Lexington Maintenance, assists contract engineer with gathering quantities for various county contract projects, to include but not limited to Brush Management, Catch Basing Conversions, and other special projects. Maintains county assets inventory of items inclusive of, but not limited to, pavement marking, sidewalk, handicap ramps and culverts for Federal and Non-Federal roads. Provides necessary quantities for District Contracts when requested.
Perform pre and post work inspections of contracts as directed. Serve as liaison with contractor to manage work, scope, and change orders as necessary. Elevate questions as necessary for prompt review. Reviews, assesses, and submits non-commercial encroachment permits for approval. Works with permit applicants to obtain required information for permit approval in accordance to the Department’s Strategic Goals. Assists County Permit Engineer in assessing encroachment permits and makes regular site visits to construction sites to ensure work complies with approved encroachments permits.
Ensures traffic control measures are in accordance with State specifications. Performs duties during hazardous weather as assigned by direct supervisor or RME.
A high school diploma and two (2) years of progressively responsible engineering technician related experience; or an approved acceptable equivalence. A valid motor vehicle operator's license is required.
Additional CommentsMay be required to work overtime, nighttime, and/or weekends during hazardous weather or emergencies.
