Senior Controls Specialist

Job Summary

VC Summer Power Station Projects team is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Controls Specialist to develop, implement and coordinate planning, estimating, and cost controls for power station construction projects. Develop and review project estimates and schedules. Monitor actual project cost and/or work status data to ensure projects proceed on schedule and within budget and provide status reports to management.

Develop and review O & M and capital budgets and analyze monthly cost reports. Assist in training lower‑level controls personnel. Implement, evaluate and monitor controls systems. Coordinate use of controls equipment and facilities. Conduct meetings with contractors and company personnel on cost control matters. Act as lead controls discipline representative to major projects. Interface and coordinate with other corporate and station groups.

Establish and implement cost and planning control policy and procedures for power station construction projects.

• 5+ years of relevant experience in directly related field
• Strong knowledge of cost controls principles
• Strong verbal, writing, presentation skills
• Strong work and project management skills

• Strong math and computer skills
• Strong analytical skills
• Works effectively with employees at all levels and external personnel

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and demonstrated related experience may be accepted in lieu of preferred level of education.
