Job Responsibilities
At Lexington Maintenance, assists contract engineer with gathering quantities for various county contract projects, including but not limited to Brush Management, Catch Basing Conversions, and other special projects.
Maintains county assets inventory of items inclusive of, but not limited to, pavement marking, sidewalk, handicap ramps and culverts for Federal and Non-Federal roads.
Provides necessary quantities for District Contracts when requested; performs pre and post work inspections of contracts as directed; serves as liaison with contractor to manage work, scope, and change orders as necessary.
Elevates questions for prompt review, reviews, assesses, and submits non-commercial encroachment permits for approval, works with permit applicants to obtain required information in accordance with the Department’s Strategic Goals, and assists County Permit Engineer in assessing encroachment permits and making regular site visits to construction sites to ensure work is in compliance with approved encroachments permits.
Ensures traffic control measures are in accordance with State specifications and performs duties during hazardous weather as assigned by direct supervisor or RME.
QualificationsA high school diploma and two (2) years of progressively responsible engineering technician related experience; or an approved acceptable equivalence.
A valid motor vehicle operator’s license is required.
Work ConditionsMay be required to work overtime, nighttime, and/or weekends during hazardous weather or emergencies.
