The Identity and Attribution Activities (IA2) Senior Software Engineer:
Tester will assist the Naval Information Warfare Center (NIWC) Atlantic Government Project Lead and the Modus
21 Project Manager with Testing and Acquisition Support to for the United States Marine Corps (USMC) IA2 program. Encompassing two Programs of Record, the Identity Dominance System-Marine Corps (IDS-MC) and the Forensics Dominance System-Marine Corps (FDS-MC), the IA2 Program is a mature yet constantly updating system of systems that gives deployed Marines the ability to identify individuals through identifying characteristics and also to use proven forensics techniques to gain information from items that can then be attributed to individuals.
The Senior Software Engineer:
Tester is expected to provide effective and efficient life cycle testing of systems and equipment. This position will support a small test team, analyze requirements, plan testing, execute approved testing, and report test results to and on behalf of NIWC Government IA2 program leadership. The ideal candidate must be familiar with industry/military established principles and practices of acquisition level and system of systems testing.
This position requires knowledge and experience across the standards, processes, and procedures of Department of Defense and United States Navy (NIWC) testing of integrated software and hardware systems. Knowledge of the process and application of tracing system requirements to develop test cases and test types is essential as is an ability to maintain a strict test schedule.
- Develop and maintain the overall test strategy, test plans, and test procedures for all Identity and Attribution Activities IDS and FDS system testing, to include new equipment testing, Engineering Change Proposal testing, Destructive Build Testing, System Verification Testing, and System of System Testing.
- Ensure adherence to established and published test procedures and test reporting standards for all testing conducted.
- Execute testing and perform hands-on validation of system functionality and performance.
- Document test results and discrepancies and manage defect tracking and issue resolution.
- Provide status reporting on test progress, risks, and quality metrics.
- Collaborate with engineering and integration teams to resolve technical issues.
- Be accountable for the overall capabilities and performance of the test team to meet the needs of the Government project leadership.
- Build and maintain a close, collaborative, and high-quality relationship with the Government project leadership and Government testing leadership.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or related field
- Required Security+ certification
- 10+ years of professional software testing experience
- Familiar with Department of War (DoW) acquisition processes and policies
- Significant use of applying requirements/Requirements Traceability Matrices to ensure all requirements for the system are accurately accounted for and tested in the developed test plan
- Applying MIL-STD-498 (Software Development and Documentation) for all testing activities
- Collaborating and coordinating with a cross-matrix organization to ensure contract deliverables are adequately reviewed from a total testing support perspective
- Experience with full spectrum of testing types:
Functional, Regression, Integration/Smoke, Performance, and Usability - Experience Testing integrated software/hardware systems for present and developing Department of War systems
- The design and generation of test plans, test procedures, and test reports that are in compliance with Department of War standards and formats
- Applying the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and the Software Testing Life Cycle (STLC)
- Experience with JIRA
- Experience with CMPro
- Strong collaboration, interpersonal and organizational skills
- Exceptional verbal, written and presentation skills
- Must be a US citizen and hold or be able to obtain a Department of Defense (DoD) Secret Security Clearance
