About The Role
Gartner Analysts are industry thought leaders who create insights, market predictions and best practices for world‑leading organizations. A Senior Director within Gartner's Business and Technology Insights (BTI) group is a trusted voice in the AI data security and AI ecosystem data management markets, providing strategic and tactical advice to executives and technical leaders through research reports, presentations and client briefings.
This position is an individual contributor role; it does not involve direct reports.
What You Will Do- Develop thought‑leading advice on the emergence, adoption and disruptions of AI data security and AI ecosystem data management technologies worldwide.
- Engage Gartner clients in face‑to‑face or virtual meetings to discuss research findings and strategic implications.
- Expand the ETT team’s network of thought leaders, vendors and startups for interviews, case‑based research and trend analysis.
- Provide tailored inquiries and briefings to Gartner clients on emerging technologies in the security markets, specifically AI data security and AI ecosystem data management.
- Ensure the integrity and quality of research and analysis performed by the team.
- Bachelor's degree; graduate degree preferred or equivalent experience in cybersecurity with relevance to AI data security and AI ecosystem data management.
- Minimum of 12 years of relevant experience.
- Subject‑matter expertise in the AI data security and AI ecosystem data management market, including:
- Cloud and on‑premises data visibility, classification, monitoring and protection.
- Data management for AI model training, management, learning and governance.
- Data security for data at rest, in‑flight and in use—encryption, tokenization.
- AI security platform architecture related to data management.
- Experience or quick learning of tools and data sources such as Pitchbook, CapIQ, Tech Crunch, Bloomberg and other financial/forecast data.
- Executive presence and credibility with senior leaders.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to meet tight deadlines while producing high‑quality deliverables.
- Excellent research, writing and presentation skills.
- Analytical ability to synthesize data, apply frameworks and defend conclusions to client challenges.
- Clear communication skills, able to explain complex concepts concisely.
- Comfortable presenting at large and small‑scale speaking engagements.
- Strong business and financial acumen.
- Deep knowledge of the global and competitive landscape in this subject area.
- Independent work style while collaborating across multicultural, global teams.
- Agile learning and ability to navigate highly matrixed environments.
- Ability to represent Gartner’s research methodology and strategies at all levels.
- Willingness and ability to travel up to 25% (where applicable).
- Competitive base salary (approx. $172,000–$202,500 USD) plus bonus or incentive plans.
