Position: CVICU Registered Nurse in Mount Pleasant, SC
A specialized nursing opportunity is available for experienced Registered Nurses in the Cardiac and Pediatric Intensive Care field. This role focuses on delivering expert care in a renowned pediatric cardiac ICU known for outstanding clinical outcomes and advanced treatment modalities.

Location:

Positioned in Mount Pleasant, SC, nurses will be part of a Gold Beacon Award-winning Pediatric Cardiology Intensive Care Unit (PCICU). This 29-bed unit serves as the key referral center for pediatric cardiac surgery in South Carolina, operating within a Level I Trauma Center and Magnet Hospital setting. The unit's environment provides exposure to complex cases, including congenital heart disease care, cardiac surgery, ventricular assist devices, heart transplant, and advanced life support therapies such as ECMO and CRRT.

Responsibilities:

• Provide direct nursing care for pediatric patients with cardiac and critical care needs.
• Manage 1:1 or 1:2 patient ratios based on acuity for optimum care.
• Participate in a night shift schedule: 3 shifts of 12 hours each, from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM.
• Cover weekend requirements of 4 shifts in a 4-week rotation, including holidays.
• Float within the facility as needed, maintaining high standards of patient care.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including Respiratory Therapy, Pediatric Dietitians, Pharmacists, and Palliative Care specialists.

Qualifications/Desired

Experience:

• Minimum 2 years experience in Pediatric Cardiac ICU nursing.
• Valid SC RN or Multi-State/Compact license.
• Certifications:
  
  PALS and BLS from American Heart Association required; ACLS preferred.
• Pediatric and cardiovascular nursing experience essential; VAD experience highly regarded.
• First-time pediatric cardiac ICU nurses are welcome.
