Position: Registered Nurse (RN) Clinical Market Float Pool – St. Francis Downtown

Job Summary

The RN Clinical Float Pool assesses, analyzes, plans, implements and evaluates patient care following established patient care standards for the organization. The primary function of this job, based on hiring tier, is to be available and flexible to float to various departments and sites throughout the markets within the organization to provide patient care. This may include scheduling day of staffing, multiple assignment locations within a single shift, travel assignments, or seasonal staffing patterns.

Essential

Functions
  • Float based on tiers:
    Tier 1 – within a single site;
    Tier 2 – multiple sites within one market;
    Tier 3 – multiple sites across more than one market.
  • Demonstrate awareness of and support organization departmental and operating unit goals through continuous quality improvement and departmental activities.
  • Act as a patient safety advocate by participating in ongoing quality improvement in the department.
  • Incorporate the professional practice model into care delivery.
  • Plan and coordinate nursing care and clinical decisions using the best available evidence.
  • Formulate and implement a plan of care for each patient, including interventions, evaluation of response to interventions, and documentation as appropriate to condition and age.
Education
  • Associate’s of Nursing (required)
  • Bachelor’s of Nursing (BSN) (preferred)
Required Licensing & Certifications
  • Current nursing license in the designated state of employment (required)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) – Various (required)
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS‑AHA) – American Heart Association required based on specialty assignment
Experience
  • 1 year of experience as a Registered Nurse in acute care (required)
