Description
We are seeking a compassionate and motivated Restorative Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to join our nursing home team. The Restorative CNA works under the supervision of licensed nursing staff and therapy professionals to assist residents in maintaining or improving their highest level of physical, mental, and psychosocial functioning. This role focuses on supporting restorative nursing programs designed to enhance residents independence, mobility, and quality of life.
ShiftDetails
Monday‑Friday 8 hour shifts; every other weekend
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Assist residents with restorative nursing programs as outlined in individualized care plans.
- Provide support with walking, transfers, range‑of‑motion exercises, positioning, and mobility activities.
- Encourage residents to participate in activities that promote independence and functional abilities.
- Monitor and document residents progress, participation, and response to restorative interventions.
- Assist residents with adaptive equipment and devices as directed.
- Collaborate with nursing staff, therapists, and interdisciplinary team members to achieve resident goals.
- Observe and report changes in residents physical, emotional, or cognitive status.
- Reinforce therapy goals and techniques as instructed by therapy and nursing staff.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of restorative services provided.
- Follow infection control, safety, HIPAA, and facility policies and procedures.
- Assist with resident care activities when needed and as assigned.
Required
- Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification in good standing.
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Ability to follow care plans and restorative nursing protocols.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to motivate and encourage residents toward achieving functional goals.
Preferred
- Previous experience in restorative nursing, long‑term care, rehabilitation, or skilled nursing.
- Knowledge of restorative nursing principles and rehabilitation techniques.
- CPR certification.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, and lift throughout the workday.
- Ability to safely transfer, reposition, and assist residents according to facility guidelines.
- Ability to push wheelchairs and assist with mobility equipment.
- Compassionate and resident‑centered approach to care.
- Strong observational and documentation skills.
- Ability to work effectively as part of an interdisciplinary healthcare team.
- Excellent organizational and time‑management skills.
