This role is a Transportation Engineering Technician IV serving as a District Independent Assurance Inspector for the South Carolina Department of Transportation's OMR District 3 in Greenville. The position schedules and conducts independent assurance sampling and testing of aggregates, asphalt, concrete, and embankment materials on federal-aid, state, and local projects. The technician maintains required records, assists with training and laboratory oversight, and investigates material-related issues across assigned areas of the state.
Keyqualifications
- High school diploma and 4.5 years of progressively responsible engineering technician related experience
- Valid motor vehicle operator's license required
- SCDOT Technician Certification may substitute for six months of directly related experience
- Frequent bending, kneeling, stooping and lifting up to 50 lbs
- Ability to work in natural environmental hazards and close proximity to motoring traffic
