Electrician (T2 – Technical Support)

Job SummaryUnder limited supervision, this role involves maintaining and repairing campus‑wide electrical systems, installing electrical equipment, and remodeling existing services to support academic and administrative departments.
Responsibilities- Maintain and repair electrical systems—panels, branch circuits, lighting, and connected equipment.
- Assist senior electricians and supervisors with project work by providing field input, performing installations, and supporting system testing and commissioning.
- Maintain compliance with the National Electrical Code (NEC) and institutional standards; keep accurate work records.
- Install conduit, wiring, and electrical components for renovations and equipment installations; modify existing building systems to accommodate load changes.
- Receive, diagnose, and complete work orders related to building electrical systems; escalating complex or system‑level issues as appropriate.
- Job‑related accreditation from a technical school or an applicable skilled trades program.
- At least two (2) years of job‑related experience; or an equivalent combination of certification, training, education, and/or experience.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Journeyman Electrician certification.
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and other electrical documents.
- Understand written and oral instructions and use a computer.
- Communicate effectively with faculty, staff, coworkers, vendors, and contractors.
