Dominion Energy South Carolina is looking to fill an Electrician‑Apprentice vacancy in Power Delivery – Substation Operations. This role involves operating, maintaining, and constructing electric substations up to 230 kV. Safe, efficient, and reliable operations are critical to our success. The position is located in Denmark, SC.

• Assist substation electricians in the construction, maintenance, and operation of electrical substations from 480 V to 230 kV.
• Perform construction duties, including installation of foundations, conduit, ground grids, structural steel erection, bus work, and assembly, placement, and testing of substation equipment.
• Perform maintenance duties, troubleshooting and repairing substation class equipment such as transformers, breakers, voltage regulators, and other substation equipment and devices.

Starting hourly pay for this position is $26.70

• 0–2 years of directly related experience in the area of responsibility.
• Ability to operate equipment such as a backhoe, trencher, and boom truck, and the ability to complete a four‑year DESC apprenticeship training program.
• Strong mechanical skills, safety‑consciousness, and excellent physical condition – able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds and climb ladders and structural steel.
• Strong technical aptitude to understand equipment wiring and diagrams, diagnostics and testing, and equipment functionality and purpose.
• Availability to work after hours, scheduled overtime, and call out for emergencies and storm restoration.
• Candidates must live within a 30‑mile radius of the Transmission and Substation Crew Quarters.

• Completion of high school or equivalent (e.g., GED) accredited by an organization recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation or a U.S. Department of Education entity.
• An associate degree in an electrical field of study is a plus, as the position requires strong math, reading comprehension, and fundamental reasoning skills, and the ability to learn, understand, and retain technical information.

Minimum requirements include a valid driver’s license with a good driving history; a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL‑Class

A) or the ability to obtain and maintain one within six months of hire.

Positions are located in Denmark, SC and may require work outside normal business hours, in all weather conditions, and near high‑voltage electrical equipment.
