Mason

The Mason is responsible for constructing and repairing structures made of brick, block, or stone. This includes interpreting blueprints, preparing mortar, and laying bricks, block, or stone in accordance with design specifications. The Mason will ensure the structural integrity and aesthetic quality of the masonry work, adhering to safety standards and building codes.

We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Mason to join our team and help build structures that last a lifetime. Family owned for over 40 years, Sons of Lewis “S.O.L” Masonry was established in the upstate of South Carolina and now serves the Southeast region with the current geographical focus being the Carolinas and Georgia.

Our services include brick, concrete masonry unit (CMU), and stone construction in many sector focus areas from residential to commercial.

Responsibilities:

• Lay bricks, concrete blocks, and other masonry units to construct or repair walls, partitions, fireplaces, chimneys, and other structures.
• Mix and apply mortar or grout.
• Read and interpret blueprints and drawings.
• Measure distances accurately and ensure alignment, level, and plumb structures.
• Operate hand tools and power tools safely.
• Cut and shape brick to fit corners and around openings.
• Collaborate with other trades as needed on job sites.
• Follow safety regulations and maintain a clean work environment.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience as a brick mason or in a similar role.
• Strong understanding of masonry techniques and materials.
• Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings.
• Physical strength and stamina; ability to lift heavy materials and work in all weather conditions.
• Attention to detail and precision.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation preferred.
