Outbound Dispatch Coordinator (Mt. Pleasant, PA onsite)
The OpportunityIn this role, you will manage outbound shipment planning and logistics execution that directly supports the timely movement of equipment and materials used across the power grid and broader energy infrastructure. You will coordinate weekly shipping strategies, guide cost‑effective transportation choices, and ensure accurate tracking for on‑time delivery—critical elements that keep grid‑related projects moving safely and efficiently. Your work will involve detailed shipment planning, close collaboration with Business Units and Transportation Specialists, and ongoing improvement of logistics processes to maintain reliable, high‑quality service.
By aligning transportation planning with operational needs, you will help ensure that essential equipment reaches customers when they need it, supporting project schedules, system performance, and the continuous modernization of energy networks. You’ll Make an Impact
- Manage weekly shipment planning in alignment with Business Unit requirements.
- Gather shipment information and evaluate forecasting to support accurate delivery plans.
- Identify shipment consolidation opportunities that optimize cost and service.
- Perform delivery pre‑checks and provide clear, complete instructions to the Outbound Transportation Specialist.
- Review and monitor transportation costs and evaluate threshold‑based approvals.
- Maintain accurate and timely shipment tracking and validate On‑Time Delivery performance.
- Coordinate with TTL teams and Operating Units to resolve transportation escalations and support corrective actions.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives that enhance logistics execution and service quality.
- Responsible to ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines.
- Candidate must already have work authorization that would permit them to work for Hitachi Energy in the United States.
- Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Foreign Trade, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 5 years of transportation experience, including domestic inbound and/or outbound movements.
- Proven experience collaborating with logistics suppliers such as carriers, freight forwarders, and ocean/air providers.
- Proven experience working with over‑dimensional loads.
- Solid problem‑solving abilities and comfort working independently with a high sense of urgency.
- Preferred: bilingual English/Spanish skills.
- Preferred: experience with advanced TMS platforms and knowledge of local transport markets, including equipment, port/airport operations, and relevant regulations.
