About the Role:The Accounting Manager will play a pivotal role in overseeing the financial operations within a manufacturing environment, ensuring accuracy and compliance in all accounting activities. This position is responsible for managing the full accounting cycle, including bank reconciliations, job costing, and maintaining the general ledger and balance sheet integrity. The successful candidate will lead the accounting team to implement and maintain robust accounting systems that support operational efficiency and financial reporting.
They will collaborate closely with cross‑functional teams to analyze cost accounting data and provide insights that drive strategic decision‑making. Ultimately, the Accounting Manager will ensure that all financial records are accurate, timely, and in accordance with established accounting principles and regulatory requirements.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting experience, including supervisory responsibilities.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles (GAAP) and full cycle accounting processes.
- Proficiency in bank reconciliation, general ledger management, and balance sheet analysis.
- Experience with job costing and cost accounting in a manufacturing environment.
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) designation.
- Experience with advanced accounting software and ERP systems used in manufacturing.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and develop accounting teams.
- Strong analytical skills with experience in financial modeling and reporting.
- Familiarity with regulatory compliance and internal control frameworks.
- Manage and oversee daily accounting operations including general ledger maintenance, bank reconciliations, and balance sheet account analysis.
- Lead the preparation and review of job costing reports to accurately track manufacturing costs and support pricing strategies.
- Ensure compliance with accounting principles and company policies through regular audits and process improvements.
- Coordinate the month‑end and year‑end closing processes, ensuring timely and accurate financial statements.
- Supervise and mentor accounting staff, fostering professional development and ensuring adherence to best practices.
- Collaborate with manufacturing and operations teams to analyze cost accounting data and identify opportunities for cost control and efficiency.
- Maintain and optimize accounting systems to support full cycle accounting and reporting requirements.
The required skills such as bank reconciliation, general ledger management, and job costing are essential for maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring the integrity of the accounting system on a daily basis. Proficiency in accounting systems enables the Accounting Manager to streamline processes and improve reporting accuracy, which is critical in a manufacturing setting where cost tracking is complex. Knowledge of accounting principles and full cycle accounting ensures compliance and supports the preparation of reliable financial statements.
Cost accounting skills are used to analyze production costs and provide actionable insights that influence budgeting and operational decisions. Preferred skills like CPA certification and experience with ERP systems enhance the ability to lead the accounting function effectively, implement best practices, and support strategic financial planning.
